Auditions with our Director take place after you have the opportunity to sing with us during Monday's Open Rehearsals at First Parish Unitarian Universalist of Arlington at the beginning of each semester.
(The building is fully accessible. The location is served by public transit - see location page)
Our process is friendly and low stress. Auditions take approximately 15 minutes at the end of the open rehearsal and consist of vocalization, pitch-matching, and sight-reading exercises. If you learn music by ear and do not sight read well, we take that into consideration. You may sing the tune to "My Country T'is of Thee" or a simple song of your choosing to demonstrate vocal quality, technique, and musicality. Your song need not be a formal aria or art song: a simple hymn or folk song is fine.
Auditionees will be invited to sing with the chorus in its next rehearsal. Invitations for membership will be extended based on the results of both the audition and rehearsal.
